Forest Steven Whitaker (born July 15, 1961), an American actor, producer, and director. He graduated with the class of 1979 from Palisades High School in Palisades, CA. A young Forest Whitaker played on the Palisades football team and sang in the choir.
Whitaker is best known for his role as Ugandan dictator Idi Amin in the 2006 film The Last King of Scotland, for which he won an Academy Award, Golden Globe, and a BAFTA for his outstanding performance. He has also starred in films The Butler and Bird; starred on the hit show The Shield; plus directed the film Hope Floats.
In 2007, Whitaker’s name was added as the 2,335th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
