Nicholas “Nick” King Nolte (born February 8, 1941) is an actor. He attended Benson High School, in Omaha, NE, where he played football, baseball, and basketball. Nolte’s career in the public eye began with a stint of modeling, from the late 1960s through the early 1970s. He had been interested in acting since college, however, and started appearing in guest spots on various television shows. He landed his first starring role in the 1976 miniseries Rich Man, Poor Man. Nolte was in particularly high demand in the 1980s and 1990s (and was named People magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive” in 1992). One of his career standouts is his Oscar-nominated starring performance in The Prince of Tides (1991). Other films include 48 Hours, Down and Out in Beverly Hills, Cape Fear, Lorenzo’s Oil, Affliction, and The Thin Red Line. More recently, Nolte has appeared in Warrior (2011) and A Walk in the Woods (2015). He currently stars in the comedic series Graves.
