James Paul Marsden (born September 18, 1973) is an actor. He graduated from Putnam City North High School in 1991. Marsden’s first acting role was a two-episode guest appearance on The Nanny in 1993. Other guest appearances (including Saved by the Bell and Party of Five) followed as well as a lead role in the Canadian series Boogies Diner. Marsden’s big break came when he was cast as Scott Summers/Cyclops in the X-Men film series. Other major film projects have included The Notebook, Hairspray, Enchanted, and The Butler. He also had a recurring role as Criss Chros in the series 30 Rock. Marsden contributed his singing talents to the Hairspraysoundtrack, which won a 2007 Billboard award for Top Independent Album of the Year.
