Michael Cole Mussina (born December 8, 1968) is a former Major League Baseball pitcher. He is a 1987 graduate of Montoursville High School (in Montoursville, PA).

While attending Montoursville, Mussina was a versatile athlete, playing on the baseball, football, and basketball teams.

The year he graduated, the Baltimore Orioles drafted Mussina, but he ended up attending Stanford rather than signing with the team. He had a stellar college baseball career, appearing twice in the College World Series, and was drafted again by the Orioles when he was a junior. This time, after graduating from Stanford, Mussina signed.

In 1992, Mussina played his first full season with the Orioles — and also pitched in his first All-Star Game. He went on to pitch for Baltimore until 2000, winning four Gold Glove Awards and making five All-Star appearances. He was also the MLB wins leader in 1995.

In 2000, Mussina signed a contract with the New York Yankees, where he pitched until 2008. He won three more Gold Glove Awards there. Mussina joined the Baltimore Orioles Hall of Fame in 2012 and was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame in 2019.

Mussina and his family live in Montoursville, where he has returned to his old high school as head coach of the boys’ basketball team.
