Billy Bob Thornton<\/strong> (born August 4, 1955) is an actor, filmmaker, singer-songwriter, and musician. He is a 1973 graduate of Malvern High School<\/a>, in Malvern, AR, where he played baseball. Thornton moved to Los Angeles in the mid-1980s, landing smaller roles in several films and TV shows (including a 1987 episode of Matlock<\/em>). In 1992, he achieved his first career milestone with the release of One False Move<\/em>, a film which he co-wrote and in which he also starred. Several years later, he received major accolades when he wrote, directed, and starred in Sling Blade<\/em>. Thornton continues to alternate between working in front of the camera and behind the scenes. He co-wrote A Family Thing<\/em> (1996) and The Gift<\/em> (2000) and directed All the Pretty Horses<\/em> (2000). His acting credits include the films A Simple Plan <\/em>(1998), Monster\u2019s Ball<\/em> (2001), The Man Who Wasn\u2019t There<\/em> (2001), Bad Santa<\/em> (2003), and Friday Night Lights<\/em> (2004) and the first season of Fargo<\/em> (2014). Thornton is also musically talented. He has released four solo albums and is the lead vocalist and drummer for The Boxmasters (a country rock\/rockabilly band). Thornton received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2004. He currently stars in the series Goliath<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
