Richard Wayne \u201cDick\u201d Van Dyke <\/strong>(born December 13, 1925) is an American actor, comedian, writer, and producer with a career spanning seven decades. He graduated with the class of 1944 from Danville High School<\/a> in Danville, Illinois. In high school, he was part of the Dramatic Club, A Capella Choir, and the Student Council. During his early career, Van Dyke started off in radio, eventually bursting onto the television scene in 1961 with The Dick Van Dyke Show. <\/em>He would go on to star in films such as Bye Bye Birdie, Mary Poppins, <\/em>and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang<\/em>. Van Dyke most recently portrayed Cecil Fredericks in the fantasy-comedy Night at the Museum <\/em>film series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
