Ethan Green Hawke<\/strong> (born November 6, 1970) is an actor, writer, and director. He graduated from the Hun School of Princeton<\/a>, in Princeton, NJ, in 1988, where he was named Most Theatrical in his senior yearbook. Hawke started out wanting to be a writer but became interested in acting while in high school. He won his first role at age 14 when he was cast in the 1985 film Explorers<\/em>. Three years later, a breakthrough role in Dead Poets Society<\/em> brought him fame and forced him to consider acting as a serious career. Notable films have included Reality Bites<\/em>, Before Sunrise<\/em> (and its two sequels), Training Day<\/em>, Before the Devil Knows You\u2019re Dead<\/em>, and Boyhood<\/em>. Hawke has also worked on and off Broadway \u2013 both as an actor and a director \u2013 and has directed two feature films as well. He has written two novels to date \u2013 The Hottest State<\/em> (1996) and Ash Wednesday<\/em> (2002) \u2013 and also co-wrote the script for Before Midnight<\/em> (2013).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
