He attended Hawthorne High School<\/a> in Hawthorne, California. He is best known as the drummer and co-founder of the band the Beach Boys (as well as the only true surfer of the group). Wilson began to develop his talents as a songwriter over the course of his brief career, with \u201cLittle Bird\u201d (1968) being the first tune that was released. He became more involved creatively as brother Brian started to withdraw from the Beach Boys. His influence is especially evident on 20\/20<\/em> and Sunflower<\/em>, with each album containing four songs that he wrote. Wilson released a solo album, Pacific Ocean Blue<\/em>, in 1977.
