David Hoyt Canary <\/strong>(August 25, 1938 \u2013 November 16, 2015) was an American actor. He graduated with the class of 1956 from Washington High School<\/a>, in Massillon, Ohio. In high school, Canary was in the National Honor Society, was a member of the debate team, and sang with the choir. He was nominated \u201cOutstanding Senior Boy\u201d by his graduating class and played on the football team, which earned him a scholarship to the University of Cincinnati. He is best known for his starring role in the television series Bonanza. <\/em>He is also well known for his dual roles as Adam and Stuart Chandler in the popular soap opera All My Children<\/em>, which earned him five Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor. Canary has also appeared in other shows such as Law & Order<\/em>, Touched by an Angel<\/em>, and Hawaii Five-O<\/em> along with movie roles in Hombre<\/em> and The St. Valentine\u2019s Day Massacre<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
