He graduated with the class of 1949 from Fairmount High School<\/a> in Fairmount, Indiana. In high school, he was on the track team and played basketball. He was considered a brilliant senior guard and overall one of the top guards in the country. He was active in theatre, band and F Club. Dean was also on the debate team and won the N.F.L. state dramatic declamation. He is a cultural icon known for his roles in Rebel Without a Cause, East of Eden, <\/em>and Giant. <\/em>Dean\u2019s deadly 1955 car crash skyrocketed the actor into legendary status.
