Robin McLaurin Williams<\/strong>\u00a0(July 21, 1951 \u2013 August 11, 2014) was an American actor, comedian, producer, and screenwriter. He graduated with the class of 1969 from\u00a0Redwood High School<\/a>\u00a0in Larkspur, California. In high school, a young Robin Williams was part of the cross country team, track and field, and soccer teams, as well as the drama department, which helped him to overcome his shyness. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Williams first rose to fame in 1978 when he played the role of Mork the alien in the television series\u00a0Mork & Mindy<\/em>. His acting career boasted films such as\u00a0Good Morning Vietnam<\/em>,\u00a0Dead Poets Society<\/em>,\u00a0Good Will Hunting<\/em>,\u00a0Hook<\/em>,\u00a0Mrs. Doubtfire<\/em>,\u00a0Jumanji<\/em>,\u00a0Night at the Museum<\/em>, and\u00a0Happy Feet<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
