Janice's Story
I am presently teaching Psychology classes (General Population) and a Re-entry Program for incarcerated college students for Rio Salado College, Tempe, AZ. I was part of a team who wrote the WFR Re Entry Program in 2008 and have been teaching that particular non traditional college population ever since. I adore all my students. I teach first responders (law enforcement and medical staff) in one class and incarcerated students in the next.
I also received an award for Outstanding Teacher of the Year 2011 and 2015. I am a good teacher. Why?...Expand for more
Because after many years not knowing my "path"; I used my Master's degree to teach. Who would have ever thought I would end up teaching college classes? Yet, it is where I am supposed to be. Just because we have more years in back of us than we do in front of us is no reason to retire from learning and being of service to our community.
I have 2 sons, two grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren with twins on the way making 5 greats in August. Whew!
Therefore it is prudent for me to keep teaching. Can't afford to retire! smile
Peace,
Jan Crabb
