College
I am a graduate of Spoon River College (AA & AS), Graham Hospital School of Nursing (RN), and Western Illinois University (BA).
Workplace
My latest and longest employer was Graham Hospital in Canton. I started there as an LPN in January 1979. I became an RN in 1982 and worked six years in the Intensive Care Unit. I them became a Nursing Supervisor of entire hospital for six years. I became a Nursing Department Head in 1993 and retired due to poor health in 1997.
Since I retired, I have enjoyed being a housewife, grandmother and have continued being a caretaker. I assisted a dear friend for three years when she was diagnosed with breast cancer and put up a great battle but lost in early 2004. My husband was diagnosed with lymphoma and lung cancer in 2003 and started chemo, radiation,etc. He died on Christmas Eve 2...Expand for more

My Mother moved in with me in January 2005 and then my former sister-in-law moved in with us later that year. She stayed with us for 3 years and just recently bought a new home and moved.
My Mother's health is not good and I also have a sister who is in poor health.
I am active in my church, singing in the choir and also playing in the Chime Choir.
I have two wonderful dogs, a full blooded registered Border Collie named Niko and a part Border Collie/Chow female named Cherokee. They are both 10 years old and also have health problems.
As for my health, all I can say is that God has blessed me with so much and especially the strength to care for those I love.
I truly enjoy my computer and ability to stay in touch with distant friends and family via e-mail. I also do a lot of studying, research, and projects online.
