Patrick's Story
Life
In July of 2005, We moved the whole family out to Overland Park, Kansas, and I started work as Global Director, Thermal Performance and Ratings Group for a firm which makes cooling towers, small, big and giant, for power plants, HVAC and other industrial applications. I have since changed focus to be the Operational Excellence Leader (Lean Six Sigma guy) for Global Research & Development of the same company.
In my other life, I jump into a nearby HUMMV and am a Naval Reserve Captain, currently serving Operations and Plans Officer for the Commander Naval Forces Korea Headquarters. The Navy has been a long trip, but I started as a Nculear Submarine officer when I was active duty.

r receiving my BS in Aerospace Engineering from USC in 1984, I spent almost eight years as a submarine officer in the Navy. This was followed by various trials at free enterprise including running a nursing pool, being a stock broker at Merril Lynch, raising venture capital, running a contract software engineering firm, and marketing for an online retailer. For seven years, I was a Sr. Software Engineer for Fluke Electronics in Everett, Washington, I design automation software and asset tracking software for electronic test equipment.
There will, no doubt, be more ventures into the small business world.
Tina Hoerig Kershaw and I were married in 1987 and we have two daughters, Diane, born in 2000, and Maria, born in 2003.
