Robert's Story
Life
For those of you who remember me from WHS...I am really quite the same as I was back then believe it or not! Well...pretty much I suppose. Back then I was a Hi's Eye page editor, and today I still actively write. Yes, I still keep a journal and I write for a friend's weekly Internet site. Also back at WHS I sang with the Choraleers, and today I sing part-time in an acoustic band called Charm City. As far as my career goes, I graduated from James Madison University with a degree in Hotel Management, and today I am a hotel General Manager. I am really happy and could not imagine having any other kind of job. I am still a huge Yankees baseball fan, and I am a season ticket holder. Stevie Nicks still gives me chills when she sings, and I am also into the new music that is out there. I have lived in other states, but when I came back to NJ in 96 it felt great to be back "home".
I am now a Godparent. My Godson, Nicholas Robert, was born on October 26, 2004. His parents, Nick and Kristen, are both very close friends of mine.
School
One of my favorite teachers back at WHS was definitely Mr.Clarkson, who was the Hi's Eye advisor. He understood me well, and pushed me to become a better writer. What I remember most is that he was hard on us, but it was cool because he treated us like adults and pushed us to perform our best, and I often pull from those experiences, even today.
Mr. Beil, the choir director, was another one who was amazing. He made sure we had fun, and he gave me so much confidence.
College
I really liked college, I started at East Stroudsburg Un...Expand for more
iversity, which was a great place to be for my freshman year. There were so many memorable people from that freshman year, and here are a few of them...
Thom: A fellow Italian and Jersey boy who became an immediate friend. Back then, we brought out each other's best qualities. I know we passed on a lot to one another too, and I think about those times back in 1982-83 now and smile.
Nick: My other close friend who could always make me laugh. He was goofy and kept things light if things got too intense.
Mary T: Probably one of the nicest people I have ever met. She was a small town girl who was fun to be around and was also a loyal friend. She and I wrote letters for a few years after left ESU, and she wrote great letters that kept me up to date on the happenings at ESU.
At James Madison(Where I transferred to sophmore year)...here are a few names...
Chris-Ann: She probably understood me the best of anyone. We were awesome friends and we had so much chemistry together that we were constantly mistaken for a real couple!
Reese: Such a gentle guy, whom everybody liked. And that laugh of his was so unique. He gave so much to everyone in so many ways without ever asking for anything in return.
Mark: The smartest guy in our Hotel program and who was a trusted and loyal friend to me without exception.
Andy: A real gentleman who had to work so hard to be at JMU. Brilliantly smart and talented as well.
Diane and Margie who made me feel so welcome my sophmore year at JMU.
Doug, my roommate senior year, who was fun to be around and loyal as a friend.
