Jane's Story
Life
Hmmm, kinda absurd to fill this out, but I can handle
this...
Happily married, with three kids (boy, girl, girl), presently staying
at home to
do the mommy thing but before that
teaching high school biology and
horticulture (Mr.
Tucker, eat your heart out). First a boarding school in New England,
then at Mother McAuley in Chicago, and later at Bremen H.S. in Midlothian.
I am presently on the School Board of Dist. 130
(Blue Island, Crestwood, Alsip, Robbins). I also serve on the board of
the Chicagoland Bicycle Federation. I'm active in the Cycling Sisters,
helped to found and run the Blue Island Bike Club, do Critical Mass rides
every month. Hobbies
include
growing orchids and herbs,...Expand for more
scuba,
cycling,stamps/scrapbook stuff,
foreign travel (at last count, 27
countries),
writing (yes, I've published but it's
mostly academic and boring!), playing asstd
musical
instruments (trying to convince dh to
buy me a
harp, lol), drinking beer, sporting with
dolphins,
corrupting innocents... whoa! Um,
scratch those
last few...::::cough, cough,
splutter:::: And
regular church going (I sing in the choir).
College
You don't major at Sarah Lawrence... you "concentrate." I concentrated in history, biology, and French. I guess that counts as a triple major. I was able to do a junior year abroad in Paris at the Institut des Sciences Politiques; what a year! Paris me manque beaucoup!
