After High School I spent one-year at Michigan Tech, made the varsity swim team and tried to stay warm while studying. Left Michigan Tech and went to Central Michigan, graduated in 1971 with a BS in Eduction. I taught four years at Port Huron Northern High School (history), met my wonderful wife (german teacher) and thought I would teach for the rest of my career. While studying for a Master's Degree at Michigan State, I had an opportunity to work for Chrysler Defense Engineering, better money, and a chance to manage. Worked there four years and moved on to Detroit Edison (now DTE energy) and stayed there in a number of management and leadership positions until I took a buy-out in 2001. In 2001, I started my own training and project management consulting business. I closed my consulting business in Feburary 2015 but still maintain my professional certification in Project Management.
