Courtney's Story
Life
I have done well in the years since El Dorado. I have gone on to get my BA in Psychology, as well as my MS in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling. I am considering a Doctoral program, but where or what I don't know, so I think I will be happy living life for the moment. "I've loved like I should, but lived like I shouldn't" to quote Rascal Flatts, but all in all I have had a pretty good time. Life got even better when I met my love, Richard, and even better yet when we married in 2004! We welcomed our first son together, Hunter Ray, on May 1, 2005, and now we're expecting our second son, Everett "Xander" Alexander, on July 5, 2007! Xander and Hunter join big brother Syd in the "boy brigade", and bring the final count to Boys 4/Girls 1!
School

h School, and am finally able to admit it to myself!!! Since HS I have gone on to college, first in Chico, then here in Sac for my MS program, and have suceeded in shaking the "nerd" attitude (although I think it still lurks in there somewhere...) I wouldn't go back and do HS again if someone paid me, but college is another story. I have made good friends and, although I am glad that I am finally finished, I miss the comraderie I found while in school.
Workplace
Well, things change when you get a degree! I am actually working now as a Human Services Social Worker for the county of Sacramento. I have been with them since August 2005, and I have to admit, I really like my job. It doesn't have much to do with my Counseling degree, but it's a good job with good co-workers, so I can't complain!
