Jeanne's Story

Life 3 kids, 2 grandsons, and 2 very small dogs. Oh yeah, and 1 hamster, MIA for a yr. presumed dead. Q&A expanded...$100 million! What? I can only choose one thing!?! Of course I would change my lifestyle, just not me. I would spend, but I would also save. I would donate to the American Cancer Society. I miss my dad, my grandma and my aunt. Cancer sucks! I'm single, yes, I don't love it that is for sure, but I don't exactly hate it either (bad relationships are worse), I find myself unenjoyably resigned to the status. I think kids are great. I love mine. I do however believe that there really should be a place to which you can send pre-to-early teens while they are beginning the adolescent metamorphasis. A middle school/"Lord of the Flies"/boarding school, but with adult supervision and guidance. However, since there isn't I believe that it is our duty to videtape, photograph or audiotape any and all potentially embarrassing (and therefore hilarious) moment(s) of a child's life from birth and then use these momentos as needed. Yes, I've been told I have a slightly twisted sense of humor. Your child will clean his room spotlessly in exchange for a guarantee that you will not bring out his baby pictures when his friends visit. Problems at school? Remember, all schools appreciate parent volunteers. Mention this from time to time. Grandchildren! Aaaahhh! The reward for all the afore mentioned grief. The love of my life is my grandson, Benjamin. Whenever he comes over he exclaims, "Grandma! I here!" and runs into my arms and hugs me tight, gives me a kiss, and tells me he loves me. There is only one other woman on earth greater than me, and that is his mommy. That is as it should be. Now too, there is his brother Lucas. He smiles, jiggles up and down excitedly, crawls as quickly as possible to where I am, whenever he sees me. He pulls himself up on me and reaches for me to pick him up. Once in my arms, he giggles and hugs me and pats me. I am soooo loved. B...Expand for more
TW: My children are Amanda N. Lee, age 23 1/2; Andrew A. Crosby, age 15; and Amara M. Crosby, age 9. Amanda looks like a model and has perfect long brown "Pantene" hair, but of course she isn't a model...she said no way. (She's sorry now.) Andrew is a handsome young man/boy, blonde (don't ask me how) and full of piss & vinegar. If he wasn't so charming you'd want to smack him. Amara is a fairy child, slight of build and graceful. A true drama queen in every sense, but not just the bad. When she is, you wish she had a mute button. A little more about me. I have been single forever and apparantly will be til I die. That's what I get for being picky and not wanting to to abuse, drugs and cheating. I like to read, draw and want to learn to paint. I also enjoy writing. I have been told that I have talent but I am a chicken. Other things that I am afraid of: Heights--roller coasters, Gemini yes, anything bigger...no way: Water--water parks & slides yes, yes, yes, diving boards, water over my shoulders...no way: Spiders--itsy-bitsy spiders I can squish but I don't like them, bigger than a split-pea...NO WAY! I like dogs, most of them. I have a maltese/shi-tzu and I love her. She's my little baby. I also have my Benjamin's toy Manchester Terrier. She is a pain in my ***! She barks so loud she scares the neighbor's pitbull. She is a big baby. I think if she could she would attach herself to my butt. The advantage of both of them being very small...if they don't want to go in their pen, I pick them up and put them in there myself. The two of them together weigh less than Amanda's cat. The terrier is terrified of the cat and all company. Whenever we have visitors she barks and growls ferociously...while she cowers behind the couch. Paris is fearless and would like to take on any animal foolish enough to come into her yard. I dread the day she gets ahold of my neighbor's cats. They tease her. She hates them. So do I. They poop in my garden and under the swingset. Gross.
