Kenneth's Story
Life
The last few years have been interesting. I was working in the Pentagon on 9/11 and was one wedge over from impact. The next year I attended the Army War College and received a Masters degree in Strategic Studies. I then went to Iraq. I was there for about 9 months and was involved in Nation Building. I had a very rewarding tour and love the Iraqi people. I was fortunate in that I had my own security team and therefore could travel more than most. Yesterday I was 60 years old. Damn! Age is like underwear... it creeps up on you. I now turn my attention toward retirement and have recently made an offer on a small farm near Charlottesville and a waterfront property in the Northern Neck. My daughter [VaTech] married last November and my son [UVA] lives and works in Aspen CO. So, I guess I will retire in a couple years and slip into the autum phase of my life with a new career of some type.... probably some area of construction. To all of you: "Live long and prosper". God Bless you. Ken
PS.. come ride with me... H-D softail Duece!.. an upgraded, customized fire breathing, iron beast. I love the ride and the personna. Ask me for a picture... dark glasses, beard and dew rag; standing between two attractive revealing young H-D Ladies at Bike Week, Myrtle Beach. I call it "The Beef Between the Buns". :-)

DATE: Well I bought the farm and will raise and breed Spanish Mustangs and polled Herefords. Throw in a little moonshine and a swim in the river... what more could you ask?
UPDATE 2: Just finished building a horse barn and smoke house. Taking some cows to market this week [10/12/09]. I did not go with the polled Herfords... I have Tarentaise cows and a Black Angus bull. My son graduated from UCLA Grad School this summer and got married. My grandson [Caleb] is going on three years old. My daughter and her husband are here in Richmond. My son and his wife are in LA. Time flies doesn't it? Take care and be safe to all.
UPDATE 3. I am a grandpa for the second time... Kate. My son and daughter in law are expecting in Jan. .I have had time to reflect about the past years. A few years ago, I learned that I have wrestled with depression most of my life. Interesting that it took so long to learn that. It does explain a lot. I take a happy pill everyday now and it helps. However, there is one thing that I regret so very much.... I was very rude during one occasion of my college years to someone that was/is simply a great person and did not deserve my rudeness and unforgiveable bad behavior. I hope to be forgiven. Do any of you regret some action? Why not take the time to make it right? That is what I plan to do.
