Karrie's Story
Life
So, what's been going on in my life? Well, you can pretty much figure some stuff just from the Q & A. Been married since 10/25/89, have an adorable little boy (R.J.) born 6/12/01 who has everyone of the female gender totally conned, after living in Ohio, Virginia, the Netherlands, Maine, now reside in Michigan (and in some winters, VA or NL looks better and better), love my old 80's/hair metal on the radio or watching VH-1 Classic Metal Mania to make me feel young (my husband calls it my mid-life crisis). Wow, I guess we're basically the new almost-middle-aged demographic. We run a progressive household here. I'm a working mother, husband's a stay-at-home dad (saving a FORTUNE on daycare--not to mention less worry about the horror stories), 2 computers, wireless network, wireless phones, Saturn in the driveway, city beach a half mile away and a home mortgage in the bank. Dontcha totally just wanna barf?? LOL
Really, we're extremely lucky to have all we do and NOT be in debt up to our eyeballs like some people we know because of either the choices we've made or extremely dumb luck--I'd say about a 50/50 split.
School
Wow....all these people and they remember...ME? Some random memories here and there...
St Mary's--now this is funny and the one thing that sticks out in my memory. When I was little, Val Jamora would always call me on the weekend or after sc...Expand for more
hool and tell me about whatever Bruce Lee movie he was watching and back then, I could've really cared less. As an adult I studied Tae Kwon Do until I was 3rd Gup and now pursuing Okinowan KobuRyu (an offshoot of Uechi Ryu) to not only my black belt, but also possibly a teaching certification. Talk about ironic karma....lol By eighth grade, I was ready to go! Ohio didn't really hold anything for me anymore anyway.
Menchville--ever hear about how when you get to move someplace new, like halfway down a coast, you get this incredible opportunity to remodel yourself? I loved it. I'm certain my parents didn't.....lol Some people I don't go for more than a couple of days without thinking about and wonder whatever became of them. I'm sure they know who they are.
Gar-Field Senior High--Wow, when I got there, that was the last place I wanted to be. I hated it and everything about it. By grad day, I didn't know what to do out of school, so I got a job there until my enlistment. LOL Found a couple of my friends from there, still looking to track down a few more!
College
No matter what everyone else says, my best papers were always rendered the day before they were due!! Sometimes maybe started the week before, but never really put together until then. Something about the whole "under the gun" thing must really bring out the writer in me. Maybe someday I'll blog.
