Irvin Lee's Story

I live in Garden Grove, CA and retired from the Orange County Health Care Agency in 2021 after working there as an Information Processing Technician since 2013. My husband James of nearly 8 years died in 2016. We were legally married in 2008 in a civil ceremony at the Old Orange County Courthouse in Santa Ana (before Prop. 8 was passed that year), so we would have celebrated our 8th anniversary in 2016. We changed our respective surnames to McKlenshaw by order of the Superior Court of California, County of Orange, in 2009 so we would both have the same last name. I had two straight marriages, both of which ended in divorce after about 7 years each; I'm now a widower, having been married to the man of my dreams for far too short a time. I have 5 adult children. 14 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. I started working in 2013 as an Information Processing Technician for the Orange County Health Care Agency. I'm active in the LGBT civil rights movement and serve as the Convener of the Orange County Community of Reconciling United Methodists (OCCORUM), a community of individual United Methodists who actively work to get The United Methodist Church to fully welcome persons of all gender identities and sexual orientations to participate fully in the life of the church as both lay persons and ordained clergy. If you would like to learn more about me, you can look me up in the 2018 (or earlier) edition of Marquis "Who's Who in America." I'd love to hear from any of you to exchange email! I'm planning to get married again in 2022 to a robotics engineer who currently works for a company in Fremont. that contracts with Tesla. ught to the U.S. as children, and who meet certain other critera, to remain and work legally in the U.S. College: Most of my undergraduate work was done at USC (1962 to 1966) in mathematics & music. I transferred to Calif. State Univ., Fullerton in 1966, from which I received a B.A. in mathematics in 1970. I did some graduate work in business administration at CSUF, with an emphasis in quantitative methods, before moving to Denver, CO in 1980. I did some post-graduate work in religion at the Summit School of Theology in Denver, CO, purely out of personal interest. I do not wish wish to become an ordained minister, but I graduated from the Lay Ministry Academy at the Claremont School of Theology in April 2012. After returning to Orange County from Denver in 1998, I took several courses in psychology and sociology at both Fullerton College in Fullerton and Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, with some thought of later pursuing a master's degree in psychology and/or counseling. Purely for fun, I took aviation ground school at Orange Coast College in 1971. After completing my ground school, I took flying lessons at the El Toro Marine Corps Air Base (now closed) Flying Club in Tustin. I soloed in a Cessna 150 (2-seater) but did not log enough hours to get my private pilot's license before I decided to give it up and get married. I use this one for "serious" business.
My "glamour" pose.
