Rick's Story

Life After graduating, I tried the college scene for about a year (till they kicked me out, ha!), then joined the Navy in 1967 so I wouldn't go to Viet Nam. After about a year in, I was sent to Da Nang, Viet Nam, go figure!! Anyway, it must have done some good, cause I stayed in the Navy until I retired in 1988 as a Master Chief. rthwest, living in Seattle, WA, but I try to visit my relatives in San Antonio at least once a year, usually during the "Conjunto Festival", as I'm a practicing, but not fully accomplished, Button Accordion enthusiast. I'm still working for the government, Dept. of Commerce/NOAA, as a Budget Analyst, but I hope to retire here in a couple of years, that is, if I don't win the lottery here soon! 1-2-2012: Didin't win the Lotto, but I finally retired from civil service and am starting to enjoy the fruits of my labor. There are "honey-do's, walking the dogs, playing golf, so many decisions, but I am constantly taking naps to think this over. Hope to travel abroad sometime this year to revisit the places my wife and I were stationed while we were in the Navy.

Visiting my grandkids in San Diego this weekend. Unfortunately, my grandson Daniel, had to spend these past two weeks at Childrens Hospital getting better, as he has C.F., which hopefully, they'll find a cure sometime soon.
