Michael's Story
After 4 years in the Navy and a couple of years back in Westfield, I moved to Hawaii. I got involved in diving, spearfishing and boating. Worked on charter boats and became a dive instructor. Lived on Maui for about 10 years. Met my first wife from Santa Barbara, Ca. and went to work for the state of Hawaii as Harbormaster at Maalaia and Lahaina. Moved to Santa Barbara and became a Harbor Patrol Officer. After 25 years, retired as Captain. Now my second wife and I travel, dance, walk the dog...Expand for more
s, ride bicycles, kayak and enjoy life in Santa Barbara and traveling.
So far we have visited Spain, Italy, Turkey, Morocco, Greece, China, Peru, Bolivia, and many trips to Mexico, Oregon, Canada and Hawaii. I do occasional tour guide work here in town and wine tasting and historical tours in the Santa Ynez Valley. We visited Westfield a few years ago and did a tour of New England to see the fall colors. Stayed with my old pal Louie Saltus and had a great reunion party with some old friends.
