Life Updated Bio: I have been retired (since 2003) from IBM after 24 years and 8 months, and more recently (3 years ago) retired from Hertz as a "driver." I am a Viet Nam War Army vet ('68-'69). My wife, Colleen, has retired from teaching 2nd grade (17 years), after having also retired from TWA (18 years) back in 1986. She still keeps her hand in teaching by substituting once or twice a week. We lived in San Francisco from 1970 'til 1990, mostly in a Victorian ('74-'90) that we restored (and still own and rent out). We then bought and moved into our new (old now) house in a small town 30 miles East of SF (Walnut Creek) to put our 2 daughters in a good free public school system (private school in SF was very pricey). We also sold our cabin in the Sierra Mountains, purchased in 1981. This helped pay off some debt incurred while putting our girls through medical and law school. Our older daughter Erin and her family have moved back to Raleigh, NC, (where she had finished her residency in pediatrics at Purdue University) from Pittsburgh, PA. Her husband Conor did a year's post-doc fellowship in spine surgery while there in PA. She picked up where she left off with the same pediatric group as a part-time doc in Durham.
