Alan's Story

After Yorktown I went to Ga Tech. I was a member of Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity and played in the Ga Tech Band. I graduated with a degree in Economics in 1974 and a Masters in Industrial Management (focus on Economics) in 1975. In 1981, I received a degree in Computer Science from the University of Maryland. Life I live in Columbia, MD and have been married since 1979 to Sherri Levy (Yorktown Class '71). We have three children: a daughter - an actress based in LA (she is currently working on a Disney cruise ship as an entertainer); a second daughter - works for a telecommunications company; and a son in his third year at Ga. Tech. I am a Senior Computer Scientist / Project Director for the U.S. Government. Update: I am now retired (2011). I highly recommend it! OK, I sold out - I went back to work in 2012. ept 2012 and lives in LA as a struggling actress. Her husband does animated films for Dreamworks. My second daughter works for a telecom company in the Baltimore area. My son graduated from Ga Tech (with honors) in December, 2012. He recently accepted a position at Ga Tech as the Assistant Director of Basketball Operations for Ga Tech's Woman's Basketball Team. Update - I'm now the Vice President of Operations for LG-TEK. Update for 2020- I'm still working at LG-TEK part-time and my wife is now fully retired. We just had our first grandchild (thanks to our oldest daughter and her husband), a boy, currently about 5 years old. He filmed his commercial at 6 weeks old. I guess that's one way to start your college fund. The remodeling project went very well. Now we just need to find more time to go to the beach. My other daughter and her husband now have a 16 month son. My son now works for a consulting company and is engaged to another Ga Tech graduate.
