Don's Story
Life
Lawyer, Navy JAG Officer and health care executive, so far. For the past seven years, I have been in charge of corporate responsibility for Catholic Healthcare Partners, the 6th largest not-for-profit hospital system in the US, headquartered in Cincinnati. I am Vice President for Corporate Responsibility & Assistant General Counsel(think Medicare compliance, HIPAA compliance, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance,) and love my work. I serve on two Boards of Directors, one that takes me to San Francisco 6 times year and one a local Sisters of Mercy service organization in Cincinnati. I have been happily married since 1984 to Sherrie (Bland) Koenig of Oakmont, PA and am the proud father of Emily, born in 1986 and a freshman at Miami University (Ohio).
Workplace
Since 1998, I have led the Corporate Responsibility Program for Catholic Healthcare Partners, the sixth largest not-for-profit health system in the US and the largest not-for-profit health system in Ohio. intaining education and investigation processes to ensure that we investigate all allegations of violations of law, regulation or internal policies.
I also serve on the Board of Trustees (Audit and Compliance Committee) for Catholic Healthcare West, headquartered in San Francisco, and I serve on the Board of Trustees of the Mercy H.O.M.E. Program, a ministry of the Sisters of Mercy of Cincinnati.
Military
Commissioned an Ensign in the USNR, I attended OIS (knife and fork school) at NETC Newport in the fall of 1984 and Naval Justice School in the winter of 1985.
