Sean's Story

Life Where to begin... Time flies. Finished high school and went off to University. Generally speaking, that was a mixture of laziness and good luck. I met my lovely Australian wife and moved to Perth back in 1997. Put some of those loser computer skills to work and got a job in IT. In 1998 we decided we wanted to move on to Sydney and luckily, a promotion came along at work and allowed us to move across Australia. Overall it was a good move, Sydney is fantastic. In 1999 I was offered a big promotion but it required that we move to Hong Kong. My wife had always wanted to live there, so that was an easy decision. That was a pretty interesting experience to say the least. Living in Toronto, you feel like you gain a multicultural experience and moving overseas to Australia helped cement tha...Expand for more
t idea in my head. Moving to Hong Kong and travelling ALOT around Asia generally made me realise what it was like to be a minority. Needless to say, that was an eye opener! In June 2000 my job needed me to move back to Sydney, so we packed up and moved again. That was ok because we got to experience the Olympics. Sydney is the best place in the world to live, so no complaints there. Fast forward to the present (May 2003) and we're still in Sydney. I've changed jobs and am working for a much larger company and am thankfully travelling less. My wife and I had our first baby on September 15th, a boy named Zachary. Generally life is going pretty well and I'm happy with how everything has gone. I miss home (Toronto) occassionally, but I get back every so often for work and try and get my fill!
