Eric's Story
Life
I received my Masters of Arts in Latin American History and Urban Plannning at UCLA in 2002. I graduated with a B.A. in History and a minor in Italian Studies also at UCLA, in 2000.
During my B.A. I traveled twice to Italy (Siena and Pisa) with the Education Abroad Program (EAP) and once to Mexico City (UNAM).
I held the position of Interim Administrative Director and Senior Researcher at the UCLA Program on Mexico. I have been involved with an NGO named PROFMEX (Consortium for Research and Policy on Mexico) for about 10 years now. With PROFMEX, I have held various positions. The last, Geographical Information Systems officer.

I co-taught a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) course in a Mexican state university.
I did GIS consulting for 2 years for the UCLA School of Urban Planning and a private companny named Data Trends, LLC (also in Los Angeles).
In December 2004, I finished my second masters (M.S. in Geographical Information Systems) at the University of Redlands and relocated to San Antonio, Texas.
I held a brief position as a consultant to the President of the University of Texas San Antonio (UTSA) and liaison to the Latin American Center (now Global Studies Center) Chair of the Advisory Committee. I have been at the UTSA Institute for Economic Development (National Information Clearinghouse) for the past 8 months as the GIS Specialist.
