Dwight's Story

To all my classmates Some of you know that I have written a western novel and it has been published by Dorrance Publishing. A lot of you didn't even know that writing stories was one of my passions. I have been writing short stories and poetry ever since I was a teenager but back then my bad handwriting, spelling and my lack of skill with a typewriter kept most of my material stored in a cardboard box. The few I did send to publishers were rejected. My inspirations became dormant as time went by and I concentrated more on making a living and taking care of my family than I did on making up stories. I thought my dream of writing a book was just never going to happen, but one day, several years ago I discovered the computer. I was in semi-retirement with some spare time on my hands so I decided I would try to finish a book that I had started when I was in my twenties. TREASURE AT EL DORADO by Dwight Hood Roberts The story takes place takes place around 1880 and is about a young cowboy, [Will Roberts] who has been drifting around in the West for several years searching for his fortune. He drifts into El Dorado, a small town in Wyoming and meets an old prospector, [Salty] who is being threatened by a band of outlaw brothers who want to steal his mine. When two of the brothers confront Salty in a saloon Will is drawn into the conflic...Expand for more
t and kills one of the brothers. Salty makes Will a partner in the mine and Will thinks his fortune is made but things aren't that easy. First Will must go to the mine and see for himself if the gold is real and then there are five more brothers hot on his trail seeking revenge. Add one beautiful woman who comes into his life and is waiting for him to return not knowing that the most evil brother is stalking her. This is a story that has it all. Adventure, mystery, romance and violence. I wouldn't recommend it for the faint hearted or children. Classmates thank you for reading this new entry of my adventures in life. If you are interested in the book it is available online now at Dorrance publishing, Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble and Borders. You can also Google it and find links to these book sellers. Dwight I went to school in Mexico to learn spanish, I started in 2005 and have been going every summer for 6 to 8 weeks and in february for 2 to 4 weeks. We have had these plants growing wild at our place for years but this is the first time we have had one come up with yellow blossoms. Anyone know what this plant's name is?
About dusk last night Peggy goes to cut the sprinklers off. She screams, "Dwight! Come here quick.!"
Me, "What is it?"
Peggy, "Just come here! Hurry!"
I hurry over and see the snake. "It's just a Grass Snake. It won't hurt

Thinking of my mother. She died on August 30 in 1959 when I was 16 years old.
Coming soon, the real birthday of Shirley Holleman.
Just found this caterpillar today. When he gets his wings he will fly on to Mexico.
Anyone looking for a job?
For the first time since we have been visiting Hawaii we finally came upon the rare and endangered Monk Seal. Needless to say Peggy and I were very excited.
.
As you can see the Monk Seal is not afraid to be around us humans. Being protected the park Ranger roped off her area. She told us the seal would bark at you if you came too close.
Got us a new Christmas tree this year.
