Kimberly's Story

Life My life has been one great adventure. For the past 8 1/2 years I have been highly active in a medieval re-enactment group, where I have learned to weld a sword, do fencing, period dancing, period garb and meet people from all over the world. That is just a portion of what I have done in my spare time. I also opened my own business on May 10, 2006, which keeps me busy. Kimberly's To Bead or Not To Bead is located in Torrington. The business consists of numerous different aspects of not only the crafting world, but also home decor. I am an avid beader and jewelry designer, which has helped me in my store. I am also active with the local college library, where I assist in numerous activities to promote the use of libraries to both young and old. I also work on automobiles and have the knowledge and experience of removing and rebuilding engines. I am married to a wonderful man, who has been a great support and behind me in all decisions. John and I will be married 10 years in August and spend time doing numerous activities. Currently we are learning to do metal work to use for medieval items, such as armor and shields. Along with that, John is one of my biggest supporters in my business, which I own and getting ready to celebrate my 1st year anniversary. ...Expand for more
He supported and made sure that I accomplished my goals through college, where I got my degree with a strong computers and business. I am currently aiming to get my bachalor's and eventually my masters. We don't have children unless you count our dogs, shania and nakyia, and our cats, sloshy the sponge and little bear. In addition to the shop, the medieval re-enactment, and community activities, I am the distributing manager for the casper paper here in Torrington. I have faced many challenges and set numerous goals only to meet and conquer each and every one. I am always getting involved in something new and always setting new goals. When I turned 28 I had reached all of my goals that I set for myself on graduation day and since then I have reach 5 of my 10 new goals that I had set. John and I have numerous friends, including Jimmie Kerr, who resides in Texas and has been my closests friend for well over 15 years. Jimmie visits us once a year and attends numerous activies that we are active in. which is great. Each and every day I have met up with somebody from my past and I am always meeting new people. I believe that I have accomplished a lot since I graduated and believe that through work and ambition I will be a success in all that I do and plan.
