Life After high school, attended technical college. I worked as a Dental Assistant for a year or so and then decided to go to college. I went to Western Texas College and received an Associates Degree. I went on to the University of Colorado but came back to Texas before finishing my degree. I married, had a daughter and worked part-time for a physician. I worked mostly part-time until my daughter became a teen-ager. During the early 90's I discovered Microsoft Windows and became a fan. My first computer ran Windows for Workgroups. Later I became interested in how businesses used computers in networking. I had already been working with databases and was also interested in learning about different operating systems as well as learning html and visual basic programming. I went to a small computer school in Arlington to study networking and operating systems and became a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer. Then I went to the University of Texas in Arlington to study UNIX Administration and Web development. After that I took classes in programming visual basic, c, perl, and html. While I was taking classes I was also working in the field. I began as a database administrator then went into network design, implementation, and training development for a company that creates software for medical clinicians, from there I worked at a social services agency as MIS Director.
