Dennis's Story
Life
I worked in family owned business till '99.Moved to Kannapolis,NC in '99.Went to work on a NASCAR Busch series team as a fabricator and partsman.Team closed down at end of season.I then went to work for my current employer-HEINTZ PERFORMANCE--selling race parts.I'm currently assist manager of the store I work at in Concord,NC.We have 3 stores in our organization.I'm married with 3 beatiful girls.My wife-Bobbie of 12 years.Daughter Jenna is 11.my daughter Katelyn is 9,and my daughter Karlee is 7.
As most of you know,I've drag raced and I even tried dirt track racing for a brief time.Currently I'm building a PRO-STREET Malibu similar to my old drag car.
I'm also our company representative at the USAR Hooters PROCUP races as primary parts salesman to the teams at trackside
Workplace
After spending 6 1/2 years at Heintz Performance,I've have Become Parts Manager for Joe Gibbs Racing-Busch Operations. We have 3 Busch Teams. Denny Hamlin, J.J. Yeley are the primary drivers. Aric Almirola and Tony stewart share the third car which races a limited schedule. WE also have a Hooter's Procup team and a Late Model Diversity Team. The race team is located in Huntersville,NC just north of Charlotte.

8. I'm still working for Joe Gibbs Racing. My wife is now working for an investment company. My oldest,Jenna is a sophomore in high School.16 and driving me nuts. I'm very proud to say all my girls are A honor roll or better. Katelyn last year made Straight A's all year and made the dean's list .
I just finished building a drag car. It's a 78 Malibu Wagon.It's a stock suspension car with a 468 BBC , Powerglide tranny and 9" Rearend. All the tracks up here are 1/8th mile. We've run a best of 6.25 at 116 testing. We should be able to run 5.80's at 125 when it's all sorted out. This is equal to 9.20-9.30's in the quarter. Everyone take care and thanks for visiting.
Dec.6th 2009 update. I'm well into my 4th year with the Joe Gibbs Racing Organization. I'm still Parts Manager for the Nationwide Team. My wife is currently unemployed( Since mid July). My oldest daughter Jenna just qualified for the Governor's School this summer in Raleigh,NC. She was #2 in her entire school. Racing has slowed down this fall. We are re-evaluating our program for next year. More involved with our local church. I'm helping with the youth and other small projects as well. Hoping to hear about a 25th reunion.
