Hi everyone!! What do you say to people who you may or may not have seen in 25-30 years?? I am well, married to Mark Baumgarten, have two boys, aged 14 and 9, named Ethan and Noah. I live in New Jersey (since 1980). I am a clinical social worker in private practice of psychotherapy since 1980, now only part time, the full time job being mom and chauffeur! My children keep this "old" mom feeling young (when my body doesn't give in). Overall, life is pretty good. I do get nostalgic for the past, and had a great time at the last HS reunion in Nov. Let me know what you are doing, I would love to hear from any of my old friends. Hope you are doing well!! Grace Lanzo Baumgarten (HS class 1971). P.S. I am still singing away, in an all woman's quartet named Musical Cheers--we perform at various places and events in Northern NJ, (for those of you that recall our fun musical times in school!!).

Hi, all, it is almost 4 years since my last note. I am writing in response to the reunion coming up in 2011! (I realize it is a long process, especially to be a good party, but it does seem a long way off!) I hope all of you are doing well! I look forward to seeing all of ...Expand for more
you. The last reunion, the combined one with Ramapo, I think was the best one yet. It was so great to see people from other classes, especially the people I grew up with in my old neighborhood on Dorset Road, and the surrounding streets.
I am still practicing psychotherapy a couple of days a week, singing in the Oratorio Society of NJ, and in my quartet, Musical Cheers, and doing school related volunteering, but the job that keeps me busiest is still the job of mom. My kids are now 12 and 17 and two major milestones are on the horizon; Noah's (12yrs) Bar Mitzvah in Oct. '09,(my husband and kids are Jewish!) and Ethan's(17) HS graduation. My husband, Mark, survived Bear Stearns being bought by JP Morgan Chase,and is a broker with them. Times are clearly tough for people, so his job is a bit more challenging.
The older I get the more I look back at our time growing up in Spring Valley with fondness and a sense that we all lived in a unique and wonderful community that unfortunately has dramatically changed and doesn't really exist any longer. However, how lucky we are to have all of our very special memories! I will see you at the reunion. Take care and be well. Grace
