Life
RARE BOOK & AUTOGRAPH DEALER IN CALIF.
HERES A FEW PIECES OF POETRY I'VE WRITTEN Over the Years
" A Book Is All I Need "
Oh ! for A Look At My Favourite Book,
It Means So Much To Me,
Oh ! for a Book & a Cozy Nook
& Just the Time to Read,
My Book, My Wine, My Dog , My Chair,
That's All I Really Need,
My Store is Bright With Warm Delight,
Of Shelves Of Books I See
Where Wonders Surely Wait For Me
That I May Read So Leisurely
A Line of Poetry....................,
Fiction , Fact ,or Fantasy
It Suits Me Well, I Can Tell,
A Book is All I Need.

BPRB,
" Autumn Leaves "
There Is No Wonder Like A Book
To Take Us Far Away -----
Except The Fall of Autumn Leaves
And All Their Mystery -----
They Filter Down & Fall Around
And Blow To & Fro !
They Warm Our Hearts
And Cast Their Glow
Of Yellows, Reds, & Browns & Gold.

Overflowing Of Treasures , Books , & Precious Things,
of Secrets for Your Knowing. Its Windows Look Out
Far & Wide, & Beckon You.... Please Come Inside !

New Years Eve 12/31/99 -------
Y2K & A New Millennium of Books
Moments Fly As Time Goes By
And The Clock Goes Tick, Tick , Tick .....
And There is Little Yet To Say ........
With only Seconds Left Today....
But We would Like to Leave with You
Just a Little Thought or Two......
For Soon we'll Have Just Memories
Of This Millennium New Year
For We Have Even Yet to See
The Wonders That Are Still To Be,
Centuries Come & Centuries Go
And Here You Are in The Double 00 !!!
To A Simply Marvelous New Year....
Bye the Bye.
We Say Good-By, & Then
Hello ..............

P.S. Amelia, Boston Terrier Says: " Let ...Expand for more
Nary a New Year's Day
Go By without Eating your Black-Eyed Peas & SauerKraut & Sweep
From The Back of Your House out Thru The Front Door For
" Good Luck in 2000 "
Amelia , Boston Terrier
by Joe Hix 2000
I Sent Amelia out to Play in The Rain The Other
Day, It was Raining Very Hard You See, Pitter, Pitter, Pitter,
Patter, Patter, Patter. Under the Palms she ran & Hid. Out in
the Front Yard she Did Go Running Around To & Fro !
"Jolly Old St. Nick "
Santa Dropped Into The Store, Just The Other Day
To Spread His Yuletide Cheer --And Check Out Our Display !
His Suit Was Red ; Trimmed in White With Big Black Boots ;
What a Wonderful Sight And He Made Us Laugh ; Much to His
Delight !He Wanted Books For Kids & All, To Brighten Up Their
Day !He Said if We Would Just Comply, And Make His Wish
Come True.... So To The Brim We Filled His Bag
With Books & Goodies Too !
Jumping Out of His Bag ; Was A Marvelous Sight
Little Green Elves & Some Fairys Too !
They did a Litte Jig, A Dance, & A Song,
And Penny, the Boston Terrier, Sang Along
We Were Ever So Happy With Their Merry Song
They Sprinkled Their Dust & All Was Fine
Then Trimmed The Tree in Record Time
Hung A Little Holly & Bowed to Say:
" We'll See You On Christmas Day " !
They Spun Around & Clicked Their Heels
And Before our Eyes They Disappeared !
Then Just As Santa ..........Went Upon His Way
He Tweaked His Nose & Turned To Say :
"A Mistletoe Mrs. Claus Would Hang Upon Your Entryway"
........ It Brings Good-Luck & Kisses Too !
........To Nice Little Kids & All of You !
We Heard the Jingle of The Bells,As Rudolph Led The Way
Up Thru The Chimney & Onto The Roof, All We Could Hear
Were The Reindeer Hoofs !Quick As A Wink ;They Were Gone
in A Flash They Had Many Stops & Much To Do !
So On A Cold Winter Nite; Just Out of The Blue
