Kathy's Story

Life is good because God is good! I am a very blessed woman. My husband and I are going to be grandparents for the third time in October. Our middle "child" Katie and her husband Grant Maze just found out it's going to be a boy...they are thrilled as it is the first Maze grandson and many cherished family heirlooms will be coming his way! Katie just was hired this coming year at Rocky Hill Elementary in Exeter where she will be teaching 3rd grade come August. She will have to take some time off but plans on returning to work after Christmas break. We are all very excited about the new addition and I'm ready to help as I did with my other two grandchildren. What a joy it has been to be able to stop working fulltime and care for my "treasures". I feel so blessed that I have been able to babysit for our oldest and that they did not have to go to a daycare. Julie, our oldest daughter is still teaching at La Joya Middle School in Visalia. She is the head of the English Department and teach all honors classes. Our son-in-law, Tiho is an Engineer. They were able to and visit his native country, Croatia and take our two beautiful grandchildren, Nathan and Emily to meet their "Baka" and "Dada". What a wonderful experience it was for all. Our baby is at Harvard. Josh graduated from Pepperdine in April of 2006 with a degree in Business Administration. After much prayer he really felt his calling i...Expand for more
n life was medicine and so that is what he is pursuing currently. He spent last summer in Africa helping in a major hospital in Acura and visiting the neighboring orphanages. He is a wonderful young man with a huge heart....we are so proud of all three of our children, our wonderful son-in-laws and our two soon to be three grandchildren. Life is good....I have a wonderful family and special God given friends. I still keep in touch with Terri Kirth Cooper as we purchased a little place over in Morro Bay together. I also get to see Thea Thomas Chapman...she's been to the coast with us several times. Kim Cameron Sikes and I get to have lunch occassionally which is always a special treat. Karen Peer Hanson and I have remained close. We get together every summer and do something BIG. We've been on a cruise together, we sent 5 days at an all inclusive resort in Cozumel, last summer she stayed a month with me. Her husband Larry came for part of it and we spent time in Napa Valley at a wonderful resort, went on the wine train and had a wonderful gourmet lunch and some wine tasting. Then on to San Francisco for a couple of days to take in the city. The two of us were able to get awy to the beach and just chill...it was nice. It's our turn to go to Texas this year so that will be fun but she's also coming my direction! Well enough about my life...I'd love to hear from my LHS classmates...........
