HEY MY NAME IS TRAVIS after grade school i whent to cortez high school and i got out of high school in 03 after 9 11 when i got up for school that day was a normail morining for me so far then i got to my aunt's class room to visit her that morring and i looked at the tv she had it on that day and i werding what had happen back in ny because my cousin was livin back there at the time. then it hit me i need to get in to ham radio and last year i became a ham oprator i studyd for a year and now i have i whent form tech to general. ive got my general tecet and i work at the arizona since senter up in the ham radio room if you stop by the since center come up to the 2 floor and see me i just got out of the hospital man that is a long story but i can tell you this i used ham radio to call for help if you have a scanner i know the fenqucys just ask me i will give them to you im going to get my general tecet this week. as you can see i love emegercy comucasions espicaly . i will tell you why in an emegercy we are the ones that help out a lot. you mite not understand why im a ham radio opator. i will go in to more detail after 9 11 i needed to do someting and i cant serve in the milteray so the next best thing for me at the time is ham radio i will tell you that ham radio go's all over the worild and i had an emegercy one time you wouildnt know it if you had a scanner you wouild have heard me on the 147.36 at 9. 00 pm 21 00 hours i was on a net were i had a seizure here at home at the time and no one here to help me i stay'd home that weekend to wach my dogs and i had a seizure and i was here at the computer and i had my base radio here and i got on the 147.36 and sead i need help and i gave 2 numbers out and they got help here to my home qth and i dont rember how i got out the point to the story is more pelpole need to become ham radio opators we need more of you pelpole dont understand what ham radio is and they dont care but let me put it this way if everything go;...Expand for more
s out and you cant use cell phones or eney of that alwasy rember this ham radio is alwasy running all the time pelpole don' apprcate what they have till it's gone. so ember this im allwasy on the radio montering the ham radio bands it just depends on the time of day if you see some one who has a cane and a hat and a hand held in his hand with a 2 meeter anitanna it's me you see me stop me and say hi the other fenqncy's im on is simplex and most of the repeater's im apart of a ham radio club i moved to a difernt qth im now in peroia and i have a 15 ft vedrical base antianna the antianna is a dimond x 50 you can't miss my place im alwasy doing antianna work or someting that has to do with the 2 metter band wich is 144 to 148 or 11 metters wich is 27 mhz and other things around here you don't understand what ham radio has done for me it has basicly given me my life back to me if i didn't have this i wouildnt be worteing this right now. you mite not understand what ham radio is but you come to the since center. i just got a high fenqucy wire antianna it is between 102 feet long right now i have a recve antianna for H F and i letsen to 30 metters a lot. i letsien to cnn radio a lot. pelpole mite not understand what im doing and what im trying to acomplish here. if you were a ham radio opator who was blind you mite understand. im compltly blind you may ask how can he read well i can ansuer that qustion for you i use morse code to read. now some pelpole may not understand what cw is that is morse code and they don't take time to learn it. what ive learnd in 2 years it takes ham radio guys years to learn. if you are willing to learn ham radio you have to be decade to learn and what took me a year to learn. i just tryd for my EXTRA class i did not get it but with time i will you can not miss me if you are in phoeinx i am not hard it find i use a cane to get around a lot of late nights studying i have to find a place to take my extra i need spical testing for some one like me to take the extra it is nt easy.
