Angela's Story
After I graduated I went to San Jac and received an associate¿s degree in cosmetology. I started working in a salon in Alvin and going to Alvin community college working toward a business degree with emphasizes on Fashion and Interior Design. I got married in February of 1988 had Keith, my oldest son in July of 1989 and Cody, my youngest son 1991. My husband passed away in 1992. In November of that year I started working for Hooter's in the office and the General Manager pushed me into going back to school. I finished at U of H in 1993 with a BS in Business and went to work for Nixion Research Labs. ons and when I left the company in 2001 I was an Asst. Vice President. From there I bought a day spa in Clear lake and returned to school and received an advanced degree in aesthetics. I owned it until 2004 when my mother had a stroke that left her disabled. I closed the salon and took care of her for two years. During that time her doctor encouraged me to go back to school to become a nurse. I started taking a couple of classes a semester at Com and transferred to Lamar University in 2007, where I was accepted into a Physician's Assistant Program. I am back in Texas City now taking more science at Com and working at Mainland Pawn and Jewelry for a wonderful couple and will be hopefully graduating from Utmb Health Sciences in Houston in 2012.
