My most influential teacher was Mrs. Warren, the home economics teacher. She taught me the basics of cooking and made me understand being skilled domestically was in my best interest. I still use the lasagna and peanut butter ball recipes I learned from her.
My biggest crush was a boy named Ian. I had known him since 5th grade. He was smart, sensitive and handsome. Plus, he had the sweetest mom who was a substitute teacher at our school.

I really miss my BFF Christy Sink. I also wish I could find Glen, who was a year behind me. He was SO fabulous. Hope you are both living happy lives.
I miss North Carolina. Sometimes I just want to move back and be near my people. I have two wonderful sisters, Laura and Stephanie. I know some people thought I was crazy in high school, I was. I was running, running away from a horrific home life, desperate for some stability and safety. Thanks to those of you who can forgive me any trespasses I made against you and understand I was still just a child then. To all my fellow alumni, I wish you only the best.
