Henry's Story
Life
For those who don't know I was suppose to gradute in 1996 . Do to taking just enough credit to gradute (So I could get out of school at 10:45 a.m.) I do feel I got a raw deal recieving a letter in the mail saying I wasn't going to gradute. After, having a conference a few weeks before saying I would pass. Over the years, I have to accept full responible. By Failing I had learn a value lesson which is ( Never Put Your Life In Someone Else Hands). That Summer I had a hothead I put myself in position to be in trouble . My dad was like he had to go though this to be Man . He was right. There was nothing in the street but death and prison . I want more . I want to live . I want a job where I can grow as a person as I grow in knowledge . I want to give my future kids the same thing my dad gave me which is a chance at life, a meal everyday at the table , new shoe , travel the world ,etc.
At 19 I decide I wanted to be a electrician . I try to enter the IBEW as a apprentice and got turn down. Got turn down the following year too. So, I decide to make a master plan to achieve goals that would led me in the IBEW.(First) job work at Lowe's working in the Electrical
Dept . Career Ended 1 1/2year with over 150 thank you letter from customer who shop at store .(Second) College I went to Uno in Lima,Ohio taking up HVAC. My Co said I would have to drop my hour to part time at Lowe's to have sucess in college . I decided to stay working full time at Lowe's (overtime during holiday)
I also pickup two more jobs working for Electricial Contractor wiring houses to learn basic of being a electrician . With this full sche...Expand for more
dule I got about 2 1/2 to 3 hours of sleep for 2 years , No Weekend Off , and alot of studying(meaning )(Prison or No Life) . Good thing was I paid for college out of pocket and still had change to start a tool collection. Graduate with a 3.479 .Ford start hiring midway during school I knew If I apply I was in., but that was not part of my plan .( My Parent Thought I Was Crazy!!!! ). Also didn't apply for the IBEW during school because I didn't won't the pressure to choose between school and being a electrician even though school is alway the best choose .
After Graduation , I apply again and got turn down . 3 month later I recieve a call saying someone quit and I was next in line.***********I'M IN************The war has just begin . Going though the apprenticeship was hell on earth . Most people treat you like your sub human. Didn't show trick or the trade . Got all the dirty job . I did it all with a smile knowing my day to shine will come. Last Feb. I topped out meaning (I'm a Journyman Electrician ) 4 months after topping out I recieve a called on a job to be Foreman on a job at Lima Refinery . The first one in my apprentice class to recieve this honor . 2 month later I pass my Ohio Electrical Contractor License. 5 month later Master Electrician in West Virginia . On Jan. 10 , 2007 I pass my Residental Safety Inspector , Commerical Safety Inspector , and business and law exam all in the same day .By the Summer of 2007 I should be license in Montana which allow me to work in 15 more states ,Michigan,Fire Alarm Nicet Level 2, ISA, and Bicis
Life Isn't Over Just Because We Make A Few Mistake !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
