College
After my return from Viet Nam and my discharge from the Marine Corps, I briefly attended Eastern Washington State and played one season of football before moving on. I also attended San Francisco City College (cullenary arts), Merced Community College, and Fresno Pacific University (biology) before eventually ending up at Prairie View A&M University (College of Nursing).
Of all of my college experiences, my fondest memories are those which were formed at Eastern Washington. While there I roomed with Mel Collins, Tommy Thompson, Dave Parks, Tom Rickard, Monte Pitts, and Dave Schwetty. We all had some good and memorabl...Expand for more

Military
I joined the Marine Corps after graduating high school. Did my basic training in San Diego at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Advanced Infantry Training at Camp Pendleton CA, and volunteered to joined Force Recon (special forces) while there. In December of 1967 I shipped out to Da Nang, South Viet Nam and served there for eleven months before I was wounded in action. I returned to the States in November of 1968, and was honorably discharged in August of 1969. Athough I initially joined the Corps for three year, because I wounded in action, I was discharged approximately one year early.
