Judith's Story
Life
I married Fred (Carrol) Scalf, a Knoxville boy, and we celebrated our 49th anniversary this year. We settled in Tampa, Florida 36 years ago where he retired from the Air Force (moved about 20 miles away to Riverview 7 years ago). During his military career, we lived in Nevada, Louisiana, the Philippines, South Carolina, and of course Florida. I retired from the Federal Government 6 years ago. after working with all branches of the Service for 35 years. I work in the office at the Supervisor of Elections during election years, but mostly enjoy my leisurely retirement life. I've had a wonderful life since graduation and we've traveled also to Hong Kong, El Salvadore, the Bahamas, and Europe (Germany, France, and England). I still have a lot of fa...Expand for more
mily in Illinois so do get back there once-in-awhile, but try to make it in warm weather (this climate has spoiled me). I lost my brother, Bill (class of 60), 13 years ago and my brother, Bob (class of 62), in January of this year (both to that horrible disease called cancer)! We have one son and one daughter, who live in this area, and three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. I'm an animal lover and we have the sweetest little dachshund named Penny and a neat 19-pound Siamese cat named Scooby. We have season tickets for our local NFL team (Buccaneers) and love going to the games - go Bucs! I'm an 11-year breast cancer survivor and fulfilled my personal goal in 2007 of walking 60 miles in 3 days for the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk!
