Tom's Story
Married: Jan 03, 1976 to Patty (Lea) Rivers - Still Married!
Children: 2 sons - Tommy (1983) & David (1985), both are now grown-up. Tommy is studying to be a dog trainer and is planning to marry his High School sweetheart, Megan. Then we will "officially" have our first grand-child - Brayden (3 1/2 yrs old). We have considered Megan our own daughter for years (we've known her since she was 13) and Brayden has been our grandson since his birth. David has been "dating" a beautiful young lady from Gana for a couple years. Yet another daughter to the fold. David is works for a Web Development company in Washington, DC.
I still play guitar, and have added a number of other instruments to my repertoire. Currently, I perform "period" music from the 1600's through the early 1800's - the colonial period often using "period" instruments i.e. Lute, Cittern, etc.
Up until very recently, I performed with the group I formed to perform "period" & celtic music called TomLori. After more than 10 years together, we decided it was time to retire the music group, but may ...Expand for more
perform again for very special events.
I also love to perform old Gospel tunes with my guitar and mandolin in a format I refer to as Country Blues-Grass.

College:
Attended Lincoln Christian College 1979 through 1981 where I accumulated almost enough credits ti gradyate, I was only 12 hours short of my Bachelors.
In 1981, I moved to Glen Ellen, IL (Chicago area), the Church refused to allow me commute to LCC part-time; and that ministry went very sour fast when our first son was born 1 1/2 months premature and I contracted very bad case of pneumonia.
Thanks to the wonderful folks at LCC, I was able to take some course-work by an extended learning program and through a local college to finish up the course-work for my degree and recieved my diploma in "Christian Ministries" later.
What can I do with that degree? We'll see. I've been strongly pulled toward counselling & hospital or prison chaplancy.
