I think where many people go wrong in love is they believe that it is more about getting than giving. True love is self sacrificial and putting someone else's needs above your own, to put aside your own wants and desires to avoid conflict. To try to out give the other person and to commit 100% to the relationship even if the other does not.
Emotions are nice and warm feelings are great but they will not sustain a relationship. True love has to be deeper than that to last.**".
