Susan's Story
Life
After graduating from Alhambra H.S, in 1966, I decided that nursing was the way to go. I attended a small practical nursing school in Pasadena and worked for many years in the acute care setting. I was married for 12 years, lived in Reno, and had 2 wonderful children, then divorced. I decided to return to school and graduated from Butte College in 1980. I have maximized my license by working in a variety of healthcare settings, but always return to patient care in the the acute arena, where my heart lies. in Mexico and must say that it was the highlight of my career--sad, hard but very rewarding and eyeopening. I recently moved to Colorado and live with my sister. We're having a great time here and the area around us is spectacular! I have yet to climb any of the many "fourteeners," but did a climb this last Summer to 11,500 before my lungs said "no more!" Hopefully next year. I do hope, as well, to begin cross-country skiiing again and will be going on some snowshoe outtings with my sister. My grandchildren are the best part of growing older. I can't see them enough!
