Jennifer Bosanko:

CLASS OF 1984
Des moines, WA

Jennifer's Story

This year has been full of new adventures. If someone had told me a year ago that I would pack up, leave my job, and move away from my friends, I would have said, "No way!," (I am not much for change you may say). In December 2007, my family moved to Snohomish, WA, after placing our house in Federal Way on the market and having it sold in less than 7 days. o is 11 is making some new friends. We have started taking exchange students from Germany into our home as we now have extra room. Lea, our exchange student for this school year, is getting ready to head back to Germany. We will miss her very much. We will be receiving a new student into our home named Marie in August. Traveling is always something I imagined I would be doing. Instead of traveling and seeing the world, I am bringing the world to me. My husband and I will be married 20 years this December. We recently took a trip to San Fransisco this past year--the first trip we have taken without kids in tow. I do not know if I am "truly happy," but I am learning to accept the circumstances and the challenges of raising a child with a severe disability. He is a sweet boy and even though he cannot tell us, I know that he loves us very much. My family has become very active in raising money to help find a cure for autism and for more research to be done on finding treatment for all children with autism.
