Jennifer's Story

To everyone: This may start out souding negative, but keep reading, it does get positive! Here goes...Well, I have to say a few things to the gossips and put-downs of Chickasha. Yes, I did get pregnant in the 10th grade at CHS, but sorry to disappoint everyone that informed me that I would continue to pump out children due to that fact. (My son is now 11 years old...funny...I remember telling a few idiots that insisted I would keep having babies that my children would be 8, 10, maybe even 12 years apart in age.) Funny how even at 16 and 17 years of age, I knew that graduating CHS and getting my Bachelor's degree, with my son in tote, was the only way to go. I had to work for my grades, work to support my son and somehow I managed to get my Bachelor of Science in Funeral Service in 3 years. Shortly after graduation from UCO in Dec. 2004, I took the required tests to become a Licensed Funeral Director/Professional Embalmer in the State of Oklahoma. I am glad to say I only had to take them once!!! (Re-tests would have been a chunk of change!) I have been licensed for over 6 years and it has been nearly 11 years since I started as a funeral home receptionist. So, anyway, I am the daughter of a pharmacist (Dr. Michael D. Hulme of the Chickasha Medicine Shoppe) that grew up walking the isles of Gibson's Discount Center and the Gun & Knife Shows. I had to leave Chickasha for college, graduated from UCO, left Edmond...went to Midwest City then Oklahoma County. I eventually came back to Chickasha. (I found as a Funeral Director trying to provide the small town service in OKC that I learned in Chickasha was a no-no.) I worked in Anadarko for nearly 3 years. Even took a Funeral Home job in Lawton. Now once again, I am back home, doing what I love and working where I learned so much before I graduated from mortuary school. I could say a lot of things about life but we all have our thoughts, opinions and stories. I would think if you made it this far reading you might be curious about my life, thoughts, opinions and stories. For now, I am going to take my evening walk...more later! -Jennifer Ann Hulme Well it is now June 2011 and lately my life has been a bigger story than I care to tell right now. I am happy, healthy, working my funeral home job and have a boyfriend. My son in 11 as I have mentioned before. I am also happy to mention I can wear the clothes in my old pic I have posted here! That is always ni...Expand for more
ce. Anyway, that is all for today! Well for anyone that has read along here....Here I go again but not on my own! I am now Mrs. Paul David Goforth Sr. That is Jennifer Ann Goforth to most. My husband has grandbabies and my son is almost 13!!! It is now November 2012. I noticed below in my story wizard I mentioned getting married to my man. That I am now! I am an oilfield wife full time but still a Funeral Director/Embalmer by law and at heart. I love the grandbabies as if they were my own. David is a great husband and would have been CHS class of 1986. I marked him in the 1984 Chick Chat on this site. I can still almost wear my old clothes like I mentioned above but I am stronger than ever and that is all that matters now! Good night -Jennifer Ann Goforth January 2016 I earned my Master of Science in Higher Education with a specialization in College Teaching and Learning October 25, 2016 from the Walden University. I am still a Funeral Director and Embalmer, back in the Anadarko and Carnegie areas. (I work for Ray & Martha's Funeral Homes so I occasionally work in Hobart and Mountain View too.) Not sure when I will begin teaching but I earned my degree, graduating with a 4.0 GPA. I am still moving forward and my son is about to turn 16. My son is now attending the same high school I did. Funny how life turns out. I am still happily married too! -Jennifer Ann Goforth Story Wizard Story below: I always wanted to be a Funeral Director/Embalmer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a strange idea. As it turns out, they were correct becuase any female that actually obtains a Funeral Director/Embalmer license, is not quite right in the head. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have my planner, pen, and paper to be able to deal with the day-to-day. If I won $100 million, I'd give 99 million of it to charity that I approve, then spend the rest on a car, mansion and my family/friends. In 10 years, I hope to be living the life with my man and maybe married to him too. I'm going to get there by being the woman he needs me to be and working hard in life. My first job was at Sevier Funeral Home, where I got paid starting out at 5.15 per hour to clean up the funeral home and do evening visitations. What I remember most about it is how much I loved what I did then, at ages 17-20 and how I just never could get enough of it.
