Blaine's Story
I was born and raise here in the Salt Lake valley. When I was eight we moved from Salt lake to Holiday and I began attending Holiday elementary school. I stayed there until I finished High School my family then moved to Bountiful. Holiday was a great place to grow up. My friends were John and Ken Wayman later on Dan Robinson, Ed Case, Darius Campbell,Dan Scott,Arch Chenney, Greg Schneller, Allen Wise, Steve Wise, Scott
Stowers, and others I'm to senile to remember right now. I wish the list of girls I dated was as longer, but to avoid the embarisment I won't get into that. I was shy and one realy had convince me that they would go out with me for me to make the effort of asking them out.
A side note to any of the girls I new, you scared the hell out of me. If I ever called you, you can be certain it took me at least 30 minuets staring at the phone first.
It seamed like when school ended we all dropped off the end of the world. I know six of my good friends had to ether join the military or go to jail after the big raid on the Old Mill (glad I missed that one) in fact we were dragging State St. on that night and decide to go over and see what was going on at the Old Mill. There was a parking lot full of cars, and no people. It was like an alien invasion, but no it was just the Sheriff with the prison buss arresting every one. I didn't see Scott Stowers for many years later when I guess we had changed our ways and were attending BYU. After high school I could see I needed to do something with my life, but wha...Expand for more
t? I Started school at the U of U, but this didn't help much. I also had a life altering experience in the back seat of the bountiful police. I decided that the cigarette I borrowed from the police would be my last and that I would also discontinue drinking booze and even drinking coffer which wasn't much of a sacrifice as I could not see why people drank the stuff any way and the only reason I drank it was at the time it was the only stuff you got with free refiles. Wouldn't you know it within a year of quiting these vices my Bishop asked me what I thought about serving a two year mission for my church. being the refomed reprobate that I was I was honored plus I thought this would give me some time to figure my life out, so after a while I said yes. It almost immediately dawned on me what I would be doing so I began a crash course studying the scriptures. Then I left for two year to preach to to people in Indiana &Michigan. It was a profound wonderful experience. When I got back I went to BYU. I met my wife at BYU she made me choose a major I chose psychology. I worked at the State hospital for awhile. I graduated from BYU and went to the U of U studding education psychology I graduated. I got a job with DCFS and have been working there every since I now supervise case workers for DCFS. Along the way we had five children four boys and a girl they are all grown now, and we have ten grand children.[Clarense says to Mr Clayton "so you realy have had a wounderful life" amen.
