Robert's Story

Okay,...here goes...... ...after High School I went to work on a towboat, working the Mississippi down into the Gulf of Mexico....I then went back to work for McDonalds as a manager,..working my way up to being a Store Manager, and then teaching people how to open/manage facilites when I was 23/24. ...When I decided to leave McDonalds(27), I went to work for the US Department of Defense, working and teaching people around the world how to open/manage businesses and restaurants around the world on military installations........I've lived or worked in Japan, Korea, Germany, Bosnia, Croatia, Hungary,...all over western Europe and the Paciific,....and all over the continental US,...climbed Mt. Fuji,...received a personal tour of Air Force One,...ran a $20,000.00 a day bar, for the U.S Military, on an abandoned Soviet Air Base in Hungary.... ....retired from DoD at the age of 49, as a result of a federal whistlebower case and designation, along with having been diagnosed as having had genetic epilepsy my entire life,....it seems all those strange events throughout my life, the wierdness that is Bobby FitzGibbon,....had a bit to do with 3/4 of my brain malfunctioning,....at 49, my third wife (I'd spent about 18 years total with the first two) finally witnessed me having a tonic clonic seizure....Expand for more
... ...so I am retired, have three wonderful adult children. Jessica, Dylan & Frankie,....all on their own and doing well,...I wrote a memoir about growing up in WG, but the seizure activity and driving off a 200 foot cliff at 70mph in March of 2010 kind of slowed me down a bit,....I was thrown from the car that flipped 8 times, landed about 50 feet away and broke my neck in four places, my back in five, some broken ribs and tailbone, and a 19 staple gash in my head/brain....and I don't recall a damned thing about the entire episode......lost an eye for a while,...but I am recovering well and intend to market my memoir, Webster Groves - The Life of an Insane Family Living in the Perfect American Suburb,...written under the name of RJ O'Guillory...(avail-amazon.com, barnes & noble.com,Left Bank Books in S. Louis, etc). ...so now I am writing poetry, watching the country we grew up in continue it's decay...and laughing at all those folks who still think the USA and it's government are the wholesome, healthy, honest entities we have been led to believe they were for most of our lives,... I'm very glad I knew it was all BS from the beginning,....WG ,WG schools....,....all malarky,... But hey, read and enjoy my memoir,( see my photo) then review it for me at amazon.com... Regards, RJF/O
