What and where I've been since June 1971? Went to Highland Park Community College Fall 1971 and met up with Joesph Hines who was my locker bubby while working on my Liberal Arts and on the waiting list at Mercy School of Nursing where my ambition was to be a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. I came about this while doing my Nursing Seminar (Mrs. Wise, Room 601) class at Prescaid Children's Clinic. But I got side-tracked and met the person that I have been married to 36 years this July 21st, Sullivan Dukes Jr - a "Shaft-Richard Roundtree" look-a-like from Meridian, MS who traveled North staying with a cousin after 1970 High School graduation to work and go to school. We married July 21, 1973 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church on Dequindre Ave. In my wedding party was LeeNovia Robinson, Maid of Honor;Gloria Napier, Patricia Walker and Rhonda Johnson, Bridesmaids; Joyce Bullock, Hostess; McComma Grayson and James (Kaboob) Carter, Ushers. With marriage comes children and 1st born, Cornell Alan Dukes came in 1973. Didn't finish school but used medical background at Aetna Life & Causalty in the Group Medical Claims Dept starting as a Medical Claims Processor then Trainer/Auditor while in Detroit and then thru office consolidation relocated to Fort Wayne, IN as Supervisor of 8 Claims Processors, 4 Customer Service Reps and 1 Clerical Support Clerk during my 10 year tenture before job elimination because of lost of Chrysler Corp as client in 1986. My module and another, total 24 people, were dedicated to Chrysler Corp Major Medical and Dental Claims contract nation wide. Before the move to Fort Wayne IN in 1980, Eric Lamont Dukes arrived. I was keeping in contact with Shelaine Sanford, Carol Hall Griffin, Linda Gates Armstrong and Rhonda Johnson but lost touch around 1983. After Aetna, I went to work as a Fleet Coordinator at North America Van Lines home office in Fort Wayne, IN. This was a break in job and I wanted to do something different other than insurance. I was responsible for working with a work planner and coming up with a profittable tonnage of household items for a driver to haul to destination and back to home base in Fort Wayne to where he or she can have a paycheck after expenses. I really enjoyed this but it didn't last long because I was hired for the summer busy season. Well, I ended up back in the insurance business by working for Key Benefits Administrators INC, a third party administrator of self-funded health benefit products for 12 years.
